  • Over 40 years ago, Theda Bassman’s backpacking and river-running exploits led her to Arizona and New Mexico, where she became interested in Zuni Jewelry. When she and Michael married, he also found the Southwest crafts fascinating, and they subsequently opened a gallery in Beverly Hills called The Indian and I. When they closed the gallery, ostensibly to retire, they found themselves spending more time with the Indians of the Southwest. They are environmentalists, hospice volunteers, and feminists who belong to Hemlock, Greenpeace, and the Sierra Club. They live in Palm Desert, California and on the Mogollon Rim in Arizona.
  • The lovely inlay work for which the Zuni are world famous is shown in all of its popular forms for men and women. 90 brilliant color photographs present hundreds of carefully chosen jewelry forms with a brand new price guide to tempt and delight collectors all over Europe and America.
